** Please Read **

The Alaska State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors (ALES) voted against the NCEES Modal Law requiring 150 university credits (B+30 or Bachelors plus 30 credits) to sit for the PE exam.

Prior to the NCEES annual meeting in Alaska last September, the AELS Board contacted the Alaska Section asking for IEEE’s position on the matter. We responded that IEEE did not have an official public policy on the subject.

The Alaska Section Executive Committee would like to urge the Educational Activities Board not to endorse the NCEES Modal Law requiring B+30. If you support or are opposed to the Alaska Section speaking against this movement please let us know.

It is very important that we hear from you. Please see the website for more information, and  e-mail jason.reed "ąt" ieee.org for your response.

[4]  Alaska Section Online Community

You will soon receive an e-mail invite to the Alaska Section Online Community, or forum. Unlike the website which is public and read-only, the online forum is a collaborative environment where members can post messages, share images, vote on polls, etc. The system will be restricted to members of the IEEE Alaska Section. We hope you'll join and help us all stay in contact.
