[1]  March 2007 Luncheon


The Alaska Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. will hold its monthly luncheon 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 21st , at the Sourdough Mining Co. Restaurant, 5200 Juneau Street.
 

Our March Luncheon speaker is Bob Baldwin, Past Alaska Section Chair, 2007-2008 Past Director of Region 6, and President of AS&T, Anchorage.  Mr. Baldwin will give a presentation "All About IEEE, for Both Professional and Student Members".
 

The meeting is free and open to the public. The cost for a buffet style lunch is $15 per person for IEEE members or $17 for nonmembers. Please RSVP by Tuesday, March 20th to Steve Kaleta, 762-4420 or e-mail stevenkaleta "ąt" hotmail.com.

Comment Period Extended


At their February meeting, The Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors voted to extend the public comment period until April 13, regarding continuing education requirements.  If you received their notice in the mail, please make note of the new date.
 

 

 

[2]  13th Arctic ISA & IEEE 2007 Exhibit
March 14-15, 2007


There is one more day to catch the 13th Arctic ISA & IEEE 2007 Exhibit & Symposium. See attached for details. The event is held at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel, 401 E. 6th Avenue, Anchorage, AK, from 10am to 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
 

 


[4]  Golf Tournament


We are still open for feedback regarding a possible golf tournament to start a new IEEE scholarship within the University of Alaska system.  If you are interested in helping to put together an event such as this for some time this summer, please contact us. Remember that the section is here to benefit you the members; if you have any ideas for events or other issues that you feel would give added benefit to your membership, feel free to les us know on those issues as well.
