Mr. Brian Hickey, PE, PMP of NANA-Colt Engineering LLC will present the
presentation “Railbelt Interconnected Operation: How it works".
Brian Hickey is currently a Project Manager at NANA/Colt engineering, LLC working on several
Power Generation Projects in the state.
Brian has worked in the electric industry in numerous capacities over the last 30 years. Most recently
he was Vice President of Power Delivery at Chugach Electric Association responsible all utility field
and station operations and maintenance ,as well as, control and protection system engineering.
In his career he has overseen the automation of Chugach's transmission system and development of
the utilities state of the art Reliability Centered /Predictive Maintenance program for all substation
and telecommunications assets.
In addition he was co-project manager on Chugach's Siemens SCADA/EMS/DMS Project and led the development of the
Chugach/AMLP joint SCADA system and backup control center.
He has managed the utilities SCADA and Telecommunications assets and led the development of Chugach's successful
commercial microwave venture.
He was the technical lead and project manager on the Bradley Lake instability resolution project.
Brian has managed Chugach's Power Control and Dispatch Center and Substation operations and Maintenance group.
He began his career as a transmission and distribution design engineer, relay technician and electrical construction worker.
Brian has a
BSEE from Montana State University
A Masters certificate from George Washington University in Project management.
An MBA-Global Finance from Alaska Pacific University
And is currently completing a Masters Degree in Telecommunication and Information Technology,
also from Alaska Pacific University.
Brian is a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of Alaska , and a PMI certified
Project Management Professional, But most important he is a member of the IEEE :)
